Hydroxyethyl cellulose has important applications in the field of latex paint,mainly reflected in the following aspects:
thickening
Improving viscosity:Hydroxyethyl cellulose can significantly increase the viscosity of latex paint,giving it a suitable consistency.In this way,latex paint will not flow due to being too thin during construction,which is conducive to maintaining the uniformity of the paint film thickness,especially when applied on vertical surfaces.It can effectively prevent sagging and make the paint film smoother.

Dispersion and stability
Dispersible pigments:Hydroxyethyl cellulose helps to evenly disperse pigments in latex paint systems.It can adsorb onto the surface of pigment particles,forming a protective film that prevents pigment particles from aggregating with each other,maintaining good dispersion of pigments in the paint solution,thereby improving the covering power and color uniformity of latex paint.
